20 Dogs Before and After Rescue from Different Kinds of Suffering

#7 Pilgrim

The rescue narrative of Pilgrim serves as a sobering reminder of the perils winter presents for strays. This lovely dog was found literally frozen to the ground, his too thick coat working against him in the hostile environment, in what would have been a catastrophic scenario. The scene was terrible: as snowfall grew, his long, opulent fur had become soaked in water and was fast developing into a lethal ice trap. Every instant was vital since rescuers battled against time to release him from the cold hold of nature. The procedure needed great attention to avoid damage when releasing him from the icy ground. Following his rescue, Pilgrim received intensive rehabilitation involving medical treatment for exposure and meticulous grooming to bring his coat back to its natural brilliance. This amazing survivor has found his loving permanently home today, where he is loved and safeguarded. His narrative reminds us very strongly of the risks homeless animals experience during severe storms and the need of quick action.
